Following the very sucessful wine tasting hosted by Lidl's master of Wine - Richard Bampfield, we get his personal updates on what is good at Lidl! The latest is:


 

The Easter Wine Cellar Collection arrives in Lidl stores next Thursday, March 30th. Though I say it myself, there really is some good stuff. Here are a few of my favourites......

Whites
Bourgogne hautes Cotes de Beaune 2015 Louis Dupleix - 9.99 - Well-priced white Burgundy
Roero Arneis 2015 Cascina Valentino - 8.99 - beautiful, scented Italian dry white
Fiano Salento 2015 Masseria Metrano - 7.99 - another good Italian white from further south
Veneto Bianco Vigneti di Sole 2015 - 6.99 - Not too dry, flavoursome white
Rias Baixas Barrica 2015 Salneval - 7.99 - unusual but successful oak-aged Albarino
Sauvignon Blanc 2016 Cimarosa, Chile - 4.99 - textbook Sauvignon at v low price
Chateau La Birondie 2015 Monbazillac - 8.99 - classy sweet white from Bergerac area

Sparkling
Arestel Rosado Cava - 5.99 - really rather tasty rose sparkler
Clairette de Die 2015 - 5.99 - bundle of sweet, juicy joy

Reds
Blason de Montbelly 2015 Blaye, Bordeaux - 5.99 - excellent, everyday claret
Chateau Soleil Promesse 2013 Puisseguin St Emilion - 9.99 - posher claret!
Saint Chinian 2015 Val Salis - 7.99 - Nice, flavoursome southern French red
Veneto Rosso Vigneti di Sole 2014 - 6.99 - juicy, likable Italian red
Vino Nobile di Montepulciano Riserva 2011 Duca di Sasseta - 9.99 - looks and tastes the part
Brunello di Montalcino 2010 - 15.99 - not expensive for one of Italy's most famous reds.
Ebeia Roble 2015 Ribera del Duero - 6.99 - fine, polished Spanish red.
