Would you be willing to help with the running and upkeep of PMSC? As with any club the idea is to spread the load and avoid the situation where everything falls to a few overworked people. There is a wide range of opportunities to contribute:-
- Occasional tasks which can be done remotely – if you are a wizard on spreadsheets, desk-top publishing or other such skill area and willing to undertake tasks that could be handled by email we would like to hear what you could offer.
- Occasional tasks done at the Clubhouse – these are many and varied – they can be individual or group tasks and range from minor maintenance such as painting, woodworking, and garden tidying, to bigger one-off jobs.
- Ongoing roles – we need new members on the Club's sub-committees (as shown on the inside back cover of the almanac) – particularly Sailing, Social, Property, and House.
- General Committee Membership - the Club AGM is the annual occasion when you the Members elect the General Committee. This includes the key Officers and is the primary management body for our Club, so it is important that its members are representative of the Membership overall. Nominees are normally drawn from the sub-committees, but a can-do attitude and a willingness to get involved are more important than length of membership!
We like to structure these roles as far as possible to suit the post-holder and there is plenty of help from colleagues so if you think you might be interested please get in touch with any of the Flag Officers. In the final analysis it is your Club so, if you haven't already, why not give it a go?
