As part of our drive to improve communications in the Club, we have added a new online Forum for members.

The Forum will include several different sections and as well as a section for general "Bar-Room Chat" there will be sections for Technical Queries, Events, Sailing Queries and Advice, For Sale/Wanted, Crew Wanted and Available, in fact anything you want! The Forum exists in "beta test" (which means hopefully it works, but there may be a few teething problems...) Click here to visit, and while we are still at the development stage, any (polite!) comments or suggestions will be welcome.

You will need to register with the Forum initially and the usual forum rules regarding bad language and inappropriate content will apply but it is hoped that members will check in on a regular basis to find out what is going on, ask any questions you may have on anything to do with boats and to tell other members about anything you think may be of interest. Nobody knows everything there is to know about sailing in our waters but there is a huge fund of knowledge amongst the membership, and if you have a question, somebody out there is sure to know the answer and it is hoped that the new Forum will build into a central point of contact and information for members.

The film traces the entire length of the Deben, from the secret and disputed upper reaches near Debento the boatyards and bustle of Woodbridge down to the sea at Bawdsey and Felixstowe Ferry.

I will be conducting a gentle ramble of no more than 3 miles along local paths and bridleways on Bank Holiday May 7th. Meet me at the Club by 1000. You can let me know you are planning to come, or just turn up.

After the walk a snack lunch of bacon rolls (or meat free equivalent) and cake will be available at the Club. Dogs will be most welcome on the walk. I can be contacted on the Club’s Librarian address for further information.
